The Wellspring kitchen is the glue that ties this unique and diverse community of women together. But it is tired and outdated, and in need of substantial upgrades and improvements. Help the Leadership Sacramento Class of 2016 ensure this amazing organization continues to thrive!

Thank you for your donations!

We are almost at our goal of raising $230,000 for the Women’s Wellspring Center Kitchen!

Wellspring Women’s Center uniquely focuses on the well–being of the whole person by inspiring the mind and nourishing the body. Wellspring contributes to a healthier, safer, and happier community by providing food, counseling, classes and resources in a supportive environment.

The Wellspring promise is to provide “hospitality with dignity and love.” There are NO judgments.

  • Any woman or child who comes into Wellspring is accepted and treated with respect, regardless of their background or situation.

By creating a safe, female-focused community, Wellspring reduces feelings of isolation and loneliness, feelings that can lead to long-term negative effects on mental health.

  • Regular social connectedness with a community of “sisters” reduces social anxiety, and daily contact with other women in similar circumstances promotes a sense of purpose.

Wellspring provides each first-time visitor with individual attention to determine immediate/essential needs.

  • Providing what is needed, when it is needed — from toothbrushes, to bus passes, to sewing lessons, to hugs.

Wellspring is entirely funded through individuals and organizations.

  • No government funding allows Wellspring to serve ALL women and children.

Wellspring is a place of warmth

client1“Wellspring is a place of warmth. If the choice you’ve chosen isn’t a good one, they don’t judge you. You can come in and they feed you. If they can help you, they help you.”
Salma—Wellspring guest for 15 years (this bear is her buddy).

They Will Listen

client3“This is a place where you can be yourself, fall apart if you want to and they are going to help you, piece by piece put yourself back together. They will listen to every one of your problems no matter how silly they are.”
